I don't know what that is, and am unwilling to copy/ paste it into a search engine. You must have great experience with whatever it is.

Americans like to call the French cowards. Yet the country that won the most battles in history is the French.

They were also good at cutting off the heads of corrupt leaders; a skill American society sadly lacks.

Presentation sword; doubtful it saw combat ......except to maybe chase bullies 65 years later.

It is a fighting grade weapon with none of the fancy details added to presentation weapons. There is no indication of defense on the guard and a couple of random nicks on the blade. The dent is in a completly odd place given that this is a cutting, not thrusting weapon. many of these weapons were issued and taken home by owners at the end of service life. This blade has no stamping to indicate military issue and storage, or any grind marks indicating having been sharpened, issued and reblunted. 99% chance that somewhere in it's life somebody found it, whacked away at a few things and then stuck it back in the scabbard. The dent would more probably come from this sort of treatment than any actual proper usage of the weapon. In genral, old blades should not be cleaned by amatuers, but put through resotration by somebody that knows the extent cleaning can be done without removing history and attributes. In the collector world this is a fairly common era and issue, so no great loss to the condition it is now in.

Actual use would have far more edge dents/ chips on the foilable, and cuts/ chips on the bell guard, along with impact marking along the forte of the blade. Clean any oil off it and keep it waxed up with Renaissance Wax for best long term storage and preservation.

Kind of like cleaning up an original old gun or Tiffany Lamp....basically a no-no unless it has degraded into 'relic' condition. Good info there, 99.

Here's what it looked like before I cleaned it.

That isn't considered a negative on a collectable weapon. The small difference between cleaning and restoration is knowing the allowable amount of material removal and the least damaging substances to do so. Some chemicals have to be stop bathed after use, or long term they keep breaking down the metal. RenWax helps prevent longer term damage. I'd be happy to find a sword in that condition too. Once it heads towards the collectable world things can often get really weird. I'm dealing with a notable musical instrument right now that has great heritage, but is "unacceptable" because of the "Woke" fanatics around today. Take care of that sword, you are it's custodian this lifetime.

Never heard of this stuff but the reviews are all very impressive. Might have to give it a shot myself.

It is the preservative of choice of the Tower of London weapons collection. Had a long discussion about these sort of things 25 years ago when I worked at the original RenFaire. Older fellow with no small talent and a cool accent did some damge to our fencing booth members and hung out for beers afterwards. He worked on keeping the collection maintained and spoke highly of it then. I would say my own items protected with it look better than those not.
