Super Satellites???

I get these emails about some new version of satellites orbiting at lower levels/altitudes and more of them to act as a new version of our cables for .com use....from phones to TV.....and of course it means the end of major companies ATT/etc.....anyone?? trick IS, what about weather?? anyone with satellite TV can say about storms coming along and killing TV reception....so just HOW is this new satellite shit supposed to get away from that issue???

and now somehow Ford Motors is stockpiling pickup trucks on some huge lot in the midwest somewhere......I THINK it's because sales are WAY down, and so they keeping production up....buy WHY?? makes no sense.....WTF?? anyone??

You have lots of questions Gene

The satellites part is Elon launching a boatload of Starlink systems into low earth orbit that will provide connectivity to under served areas. If you have fiber, don't worry about it. If you're surviving on Hughes net, then it may make sense.

The trucks, no idea, but it seems odd that somehow Ford has figured out supply chain for chips and other stuff.

The reason they are stockpiling in the Midwest is due to routine severe weather and tornados to recoup some money in disaster relief.

They should ship them here to New Mexico for a great insurance fire

Stock piling is due to microchip shortage. They make the trucks, then put the chips in as they get them.

New vehicles are being built, but incomplete, as they are missing computer chips, so the manufacturers build them, then park them until they get the computer chips to complete them so they actually run and can be sold. We should learn from this and start making our own computer chips here in the US.

Recall when Trump told us why it was vital to not only be energy independent, but to bring manufacturing back to the US? Here you go.

Amazon is launching low-orbit satellites for internet soon too...

I'd guess chip-shortages are the reason for the truck issue.
Even if it was related to demand, the union probably wouldn't allow them to cut production too quickly.

I can see maybe a company copy of DIY EFI.com products....and for all the world, that and a radio/cassette/cd is all the damn car needs in the way of chips/etc......WHY bother for any more?? WTF does it prove??

We actually did a number of studies on this. Cascade is an incredibly remote chance, even if an adversary decided to gun one down. The orbits have reasonable diversity in altitude and inclination.

F-Series are on stored in almost every available parking lot in our Ford Motor Company, Dearborn MI campus waiting for chips. That is the only reason the company is doing this and you can appreciate the excess costs associated with additional logistics, 24/7 security, frozen capital, upset loyal and prospective customers, and inconvenience. This is only possible because of the available Ford-owned office employee parking spaces because we are still working from home.

We REALLY need to have chip manufacturing capacity in the US, again -
