If I ever get an income again I will try to get my Fusion 1911 back. It's difficult to find a revolver I like that isn't too pricey or large. The smaller ones tend to be used and look very used.

Not going into details about what may or may not be in my house. I can assure you that intrusion will be met with a response other than calling 911

If i grab "other than a revolver", your hearing better be pretty good as the last thing you'll hear is the click of the safety coming off

Exactly . Need to try out whatever you are interested in and feel comfortable with. Then spend some time putting rounds down range

With a budget of $500-1000. I recommend a CZ 75 extra mags, and a couple thousand rounds of ammo.

My suggestion is to standardize on 9mm. It hits the sweet spot nicely for handguns, giving you plenty of rounds (magazine capacity) while having plenty of oomph. If you liked shooting the M&P Shield, their 9mm version is indeed a nice handgun and you could do far worse.

Kimber micro9 fits the hands of most women, and is great for a novice. Very inexpensive to shoot since its a 9mm. . |

Like Gene said, a good 12 gauge shot gun is great.
About 10 years ago when I was still living in Southern CA, my neighbor told me that there was a fight going on early in the morning on my front lawn. He awoke (x-military) and herd someone calling for help. So he grabbed his shot gun walked out side to my lawn and said "someone need help" and with a pump of the shotgun, both guys ran off. A shotgun does a lot of damage at close range and you don't have to be that accurate. Couple a shotgun with a good 9mm pistol that Cybercowboy mentioned, and you should be good to go unless you need a rifle for long distances. |
