That does sound like a lot of fun.

Isn't there a hang glider on a rope there too? If so, then I rode on that alpine slide. I came away with a ton of road rash from that damn thing. You'd pull the stick to go faster and let it back down to slow down. Unfortunately, I didn't figure out the slow down part until about the last turn. I must've wiped out on just about every turn on that fucker!

They have an operational diagram at the top and bottom of the hill plus a guy at the top that shows you how to use the sled

KY Action Park Alpine Slide POV - YouTube

In addition, the same lot where the alpine slide is provides old style dodge-em cars, an old arcade, horseback riding, and water bumper boats. So the wives and/or non-racers can have fun during race time.

Oh and did I mention, you get to the top of the slide by ski lift...no stairs!
Dinner train and drive in movie would be fun - nice change of pace for sure. Alpine slide looked fun until I saw the video.

......which is why I'd be terrified on that thing.

I know Franklin, TN was mentioned for the history buffs, it's also got some great restaurants, and lots of little shops (for the wimmenz)

This is the one that we passed headed up to JB. One of the better around. They also do a murder mystery dinner around memorial day weekend every year. Reservations would be imperative. If you guys have never done the murder mystery train experience...I really encourage it. Especially with a group of folks that know each other...it is very entertaining and amusing. Brings about teamwork for sure

Can I just throw this out there...just for debate. I know how great the Hampton treats the participants. I'm not slighting them in any way. But, are there any real resorts in the area ? Something that offers nice views and other resort type amenities ?

Well in THAT case, bring it on!
I also noticed that they tell you when to go "slow". And those tires to stop you at the bottom look reasonably cushy.

It seriously does look fun though!

I know this guy that lives kinda on the way to the Dragon that plays with trains. Maybe he could hook us up.
A group dinner train kinda thing sounds pretty good. Murder mystery show perhaps... "Who Killed Iron Chef?"

Some inspiration... If you have a parking lot at your disposal, and a lot of cones, do a tricycle road course.

There are lots of them inc. Mammoth Cave, Yogi, Barron River, Land between the lakes, then south in TN fall creek falls, rock city, etc....however these are all "nature and restful places" with a pretty strict quiet time both in the morning and evening. They wouldnt tolerate reving engines, loudness, public drinking, radios, etc. Just sayin. Plus the commute to BG....

Yes, even when you hit them full speed, its a good cushion

It seriously does look fun though!

That it is! And I'll beat you!

I thought it was really good. I enjoyed both movies the year they had it. Ironically, I think a lot of people were wondering what they were missing out on back at the hotel. If you stay for both movies, it will be midnight to 1am before heading back to the hotel... I know some didn't stay up that late.... me included one night

I remember Hwy 96 on Center Hill Lake near Smithville, TN being a great driving road, from when I lived there.
