Default Tonight's Guest
I have a lot of birds around. They actually act like an alarm clock and wake me each morning they are so loud outside my window. Then every night they all go to bed about the same time and it gets quite. Before sundown tonight I thought they are really loud before bed tonight. I looked out and this guy was staring back at me. They didn't like him being around and let him know it! LOL

My ex was a Native American and believed owls to be messengers of death. If one came around and stated hooting, he said that meant someone you knew was going to die. He even had a little tobacco offering ritual that he would do to ward off death and offering to the elders.

Thanks! I've known older people to get unsettled when they hear one of them hooting. I didn't know it originated from NA's. I don't want to bring up any painful memories for you Wendy. But learning and seeing those NA rituals would be pretty cool to me. I live very near the Cherokee capital and trail of tears. All our rivers, etc..have indian given names. We find a lot of arrow heads, tools, etc...fascinating stuff to me.

Luckily, Hootie hasn't actually hooted LOL He just shows up on the same limb a few times and goes hunting. Hope I'm safe.
