PM me if you wish to discuss this further since all my guns were recently lost in a sink hole.

Get a couple books and try refinishing the stock on your deer rifle, or reblueing that ugly .22 we all have stuck in the back of the safe. Build some custom grips for your favorite pistola. Do a "drop in" trigger job on your carry piece.

If I live long enough to "retire" I hope to become a gunsmith. The profession requires little in the way of strength stamina or flexibility, and is challenging mentally. And I do love guns.

I built this when I was recovering from shoulder surgery. The only part I didn't do myself was setting the cartridge clearance since a fellow rifle forum member was about 5 miles from me and offered to help me out. ( Thank you George )

Metric or inch? I like the FAL. Well proven and more accurate than an AK by a long way.

Inch I purchased a parts kit back in the mid 90s for $89 and got the Imbel receiver recently.

Were you not selling off properties and the big house so you could downsize ? Anyway, at your age you just need to find a new adventure. Something will come up.

Ya, I sold a lot of stuff.
My Vette, Two of four estate lots that we own, and tons of accumulated stuff that was laying around collecting dust, but the house wouldn't sell for what I wanted, so no sale.
I switched gears and rented part of it.
It's gotta be SAD..... Seasonal Affective Disorder and the fact that I'm gettin' older......

I often think of that song when I am having a bad day. The Who had some great ones. I always say November is my worst month. Dark and rainy in general, lots of tricky days.

It's the fact you spend most of your married adult life taking care of your kids. It's why you had them. Going thru the same thing here, but since I am self employed, we are seriously trying to move South within the next year.
Both my kids are in Nashville for now, as my son quit Google as he hated California and moved back to Nashville. My daughter is a Junior, but will stay somewhere in the South.

What ever happened to your Condo's?

Probably the funk that I seem to be in as well. I try to remind myself...hourly...that I have zero problems. Like I said in another thread, I'm working out more, getting things done around my place. I've also started going to a bunch of college basketball games in my area. Courtside tickets are pretty cheap and there's games a few times a week.

My daughter lives close by and my son has already made it clear he's moving back after college. That'll work. I like having my kids nearby, but it's also nice to have my own space.

You'll snap out of it.

Funny how shit happens, just the other day wife pointed out the hidden key she put outside for the back door, typically the kitchen slider is pegged locked....so if the garage door opener failed, or no electric power, obviously no way in the house, front door has a plastic/wood door over it, and it's latched

not a day later, comments about 80 y/o Ernie who lives alone across the street...in 420 house number we have laughed over some time ago....well other neighbors have an emergency key to his place.....got me thinking,

so I told my neighbor buddy Chuck about our emergency key location.....

we all been friendly and hanging out together for all the 18 years I been here, lately with the gorgeous weather, we get out in the AM and stand on our quite street and BS for a hour over coffee YAWN.....

Hey, how you doin'?

I ended up splitting the 19 acres into 4.75 acre estate lots and have two of the four sold.
Hamburg is a really fk'd up town as far as the town hall people and, with the wetland issues on the parcel, I switched gears and took the easy way out.

BTW, Eryn got back from Africa ok and is finishing her 1st semester of med school at GW on Wednesday with a visit to the White House to help the Health committee fix stuff. .
