It's the weather. That snake is obviously overheated.

It needs you to rub some sun lotion on its back. I would suggest "PF-15 Copperhead-tone".

Morning all, lovely weather up in the north country today. More machine shop trips today for the new motor.
Question:....I forget the female member who's into squirrels? What's her name...I found a funny squirrel thing for her....

Ahhh, the smell of freedom, first full day of bannage from there.

The sky is bluer, air is cleaner, and coffee is ready.

It's a great day here at the Barn!!!

Might be another "red hot snake day" around here, although it's only 108* now.

ick.

wander down to the shop this morning to make a 8"x72" little bar top for the knee wall between the kitchen and the greatroom in the guesthouse. have a nice hunk of maple from another project, so just need to cut it down to size and so a little light sanding.

we had a heck of a rain last night, so i open the sliding shop doors...ewww....water and mud all over the place. the back of the shop has a hill behind it, and of course the water only goes one way: downhill.

i had dug a little trench around the shop to divert rainwater...but not a big enough trench it appears, as a mess of water and mud came into the shop.

thankfully, all the tools and workbenches are on rubber wheels, so no damage was done, it's just a mess that will take time to dry out.

guess i better dig a bigger moat.

HUMMM.....what the shop made of?? T1-11 or masonry..?? IF masonry, maybe do a reverse grade back into the hillside??

if wood, I have no clue how to help....frame would not be strong enough to support any serious grading.....depending on roof lines, maybe lay a couple layers of block along that back well, then trim the studs/sill plate to set on them??

It's a steel frame building on a concrete slab. About an acre drains toward the back door (metal sliding, 2 at 8' wide). Need to dig more and spread gravel on the bare dirt to slow down the water.

What would happen if you dug all around the back of the building and wrapped the bottom, say 2ft, one foot down and one up, with that corrugated galvanized tin., or even that green corrugated hard plastic. Right around the back and say 4 or 5 ft down the sides? Just thinking! Divert the run off......
