1946 - Spruce goose in Long Beach, Ca. Star House Movers, Inc.
Around 1990 on my California visit saw the Spruce Goose and adjacent Queen Mary. Think it was a $15 fee. Neither impressed me. The Queen Mary walked in one door and along the hall and out another door, that was the extent of the ship tour.

I've been to Long Beach when the Spruce Goose was parked next to the Queen Mary. I like both but being an aircraft mechanic at the time the Spruce Goose was what I went there to see. Even though I worked on C5's and 747's (among other heavies) I was super impressed with the Spruce Goose mainly because it was all wood construction.
Ships just don't float my boat. The Queen Mary is just another ship. |

I’m certain that scaffolding in the bed of those trucks was OSHA approved.
