....for using video from Afroman's surveillance cameras in a music video about.....those same cops raiding his house, and coming up with nothing.

Afroman is countersuing. Hope he's successful. The sheriffs busted up his house, took his money, eventually returned some of his money after 'losing' some of it, and left him to pick up the pieces of property destruction and having his wife and kids terrorized for nothing.

ADAMS COUNTY, Ohio (WXIX) - Seven members of the Adams County Sheriff’s Office who raided Joseph Foreman’s home last year are now suing him claiming, among other things, that he invaded their privacy.

Four deputies, two sergeants and a detective are claiming Foreman (a.k.a. “Afroman”) took footage of their faces obtained during the raid and used it in music videos and social media posts without their consent, a misdemeanor violation under Ohio Revised Code.

They’re also suing on civil grounds, saying Foreman’s use of their faces (i.e. personas) in the videos and social media posts resulted in their “emotional distress, embarrassment, ridicule, loss of reputation and humiliation.”

The plaintiffs say they’re entitled to all of Foreman’s profits from his use of their personas. That includes, according to the complaint, proceeds from the songs, music videos and live event tickets as well as the promotion of Foreman’s “Afroman” brand, under which he sells beer, marijuana, t-shirts and other merchandise.

They’re also asking for an injunction to take down all videos and posts containing their personas.

Cincinnati attorney Robert Klingler filed the suit in Adams County Common Pleas Court on March 13 against Foreman, his recording firm and a Texas-based media distribution company. Not every law enforcement officer involved in the raid is named as a plaintiff.

Foreman on Wednesday posted to Instagram promising to countersue “for the undeniable damage this had on my clients, family, career and property.”

The sheriff’s office conducted the armed raid of Foreman’s Adams County home last August. See the bodycam video below:

So, I bust into your house at gunpoint, terrorize your family, steal cash, destroy property, and I am the one who is traumatized? Alrighty then.

Beyond the absolute absurdity here, it's well established that it's perfectly legal to video public servants in the course of their duty. Afroman didn't hang outside of their houses and stalk these deputies, they came to him, and he got video, captured before they figured it out and disabled his cameras.

Why disable cameras if you're not doing anything wrong?

You have to understand, LEOs need to have a RIGHT to privacy when they are stealing cash from tax-paying citizens. How are they supposed to pad their lifestyle if every time they try to pilfer a few tens of thousands of dollars from a private citizen, there is a camera looking over their shoulder?

Now, for the rest of their lives, they are going to have to deal with the fact that there is video out on the internet of them using their "authority" to burgle a home. How are they supposed to get the next gig to keep stealing? Have you even thought about this at all?

There's a new tactic being employed by attorneys for these cases where cops have destroyed property looking for evidence. It is based on 5th amendment principles and was recently successful in Texas.

I'd be less sympathetic to Afroman if they did indeed find large amounts of illegal drugs and some kidnapped people. They didn't find that. They found some cash, something that might be found in the houses of most of the members of the VB. Put yourself in the shoes of the guy who had his house ****ed up for a minute.

They busted into his house, found nothing, took his money, failed to return it all after some of it mysteriously disappeared, and refused to even pay for what they broke. If police busted down my door, I'd expect them to pay for the damages, at minimum.

Munis claim sovereign immunity when their SWAT teams destroy property. Here's a case where the home owner's attorney argued eminent domain, and won.

The Streisand Effect hard at work here. I and many others knew nothing of the raid and music videos until these meatboys filed their suit and the media picked up on it. In my non-legal opinion they don't have a shot in hell of winning anything. It's pretty hard for a jury to find for the plaintiff when they are laughing at the evidence.
