Agreed, a lot of precedent out there on both sides. Really won't know anything until an indictment happens, if ever, and it gets unsealed and we see what they are calling evidence of a crime, I don't see it personally.

It's a reach. A long reach. The charge is related to election interference. They need to prove that Trump paid off Daniels and did so only to influence the election. Worst case is that they actually connect the payment to him, which now has a big question mark. His lawyers merely have to convince a jury that any news of an affair would be detrimental to his image as a husband and businessman. Stupid easy. All the talk of "campaign money" being used is BS. That amount was/is chump change for him.

It's not illegal to have sex with anyone he wants, porn stars, strippers and on and on. It's also not illegal to cheat on your wife, something we know he's done on a few occasions at least. It's also not illegal to pay and compensate someone to keep it quiet that I know of, I've used NDAs several times in my career. For me, I see those actions as character flaws of a dishonest and dishonorable man and that not the kind of man I want as president but again my opinion only and the voters can choose who they want.

My problem is the lie to cover it up. Trump got cornered by a reporter and was asked if he knew about the payments and said he did not, if JRD77VET thinks this is spewing more shit I can produce the link. He could have gotten away with that lie had that idiot Rudy not gone on Hannity and spilled the beans. Also remember that when the White House denied what Rudy said, Cohen produced an audio tape of a conversation between he and Trump where Trump was telling him the best way to make the payment. If JRD77VET thinks I'm just spewing more shit I can produce that link as well. That's where I have a problem.

Whether any of this is illegal is up to the legal experts to decide, I'm not one of them. As I said, I don't see that this goes anywhere but we'll see. I think his big problems are coming from other directions, not this one.

Lieing about the payment is what is under investigation. Cheating is not what’s under investigation. The NDA or the terms of it are not what is under investigation.

Why and when the payment was made, and who knew about it, is what is under investigation.
