Apparently the director, who was standing next to the director of cinematography ordered a reshoot of the scene. Douchnozzle was screwing around and said, "Maybe I should just shoot both of you!" and proceeded to do so. It means nothing that his own father was a firearms instructor, so he KNEW from childhood to treat every gun like a loaded one. Zero F's given.

Just over 5 decades ago, me and a buddy were out shooting at a local power plant in the DC region/Md burbs......and so I was into .44 mag S&W so we setting in the car after the shooting, and talking weapons, I pull my .44 and what I THOUGHT was to empty the cylinders.....RONG, one shot remained in place for some odd reason....and so we chatting and I start to dry fire the thing, aiming at the trans hump/tunnel.........my buddy happened to be a Federal COP.....he pulls out his best training/command voice and says to not drop that hammer one up and we be still walking, deaf as stones......

well, since i live in Santa Fe County, i'm a resident of the county of jurisdiction, so if he gets charged, and there is a trial, it is remotely possible that i'd be called as a juror. ugh.

i'm guessing involuntary manslaughter, takes a plea deal, fine and probation (maybe with some gun safety instruction), and he goes back to hating NRA members. i'm an NRA member.

I've been an ACW reenactor for 30 yrs. We use real guns - tens of thousands of them pointed and fired at each other in battles. I can only recall one instance someone was actually shot and another one when a barrel exploded and injured the guy. The one that got shot was by a Cav. guy using a pistol that had been lived fired sometime before the event and a sliver of lead was still in the gun. It came out and hit a guy in the thigh/nut area..non life threatening, but was still investigated as a shooting.

We follow the strict manual of arms of the period and do a safety inspection of every gun before marching out of camp. We have turned away a couple of people before that wanted to 'fall-in" in with our group because the rifle was too dirty or in bad shape.
