According to a video I watched earlier he was asked to redo a scene and became frustrated saying "How about I just shoot the both of you instead" and then he did. It was also said they were doing practice sessions, not filming.

i recall reading, long ago, a story about Clint Eastwood, and how he ran a tight production company, not too much wasted effort. after one scene, the director wanted to reshoot it, due to some imperfection. Clint asked him "was I in focus?" "yes" "good, let's move on"

you reshoot to get rid of one mistake, you get a different mistake. you rarely get a perfect take. move on Alex. learn from the best.
