Default Good Bye USAA

It's been an expensive 11 years. After last years rate increase and their unwillingness to work with me. I'm done.

I switched all of my insurance policies to Farmers insurance, and now get to have a local rep if I ever need anything <and he drives a C6 Z06>. Plus I'm saving over $500 a year on the switch!

You ain't just a kidding, it pisses me off everytime I see one of their hokie assed commercials on TV. They also laid off a crap load of people working for them last year. Plus, if you have a claim against one of their policy holders, good luck getting them pay off. It took 15 months and legal action to get them to pay off a wreck my wife was in. Girl ran a light and my wife T-boned her, a policeman was behind my wife so there was no doubt about who ran the light.

My last car loan was through them -- when I sold the car it was rather painfull having to explain my story to a different person everytime I called them.

I have had an insurance claim with USAA I must say it was a very painless process. I'm looking forward to having somebody who is familiar with my situation and working with me to ensure everything has been handled correctly.

This agent/insurance was personally recommended to me by somebody who has been using him for years, and has had multiple claims. I feel pretty confident in my selection.

I think you'd be hardpressed to find any insurance company where somebody hasn't been left feeling screwed.

They dropped my FL house a few years back..consider that strike 1, I had some issues with paying off my last car loan Strike 2....and their response to my insurance premium increase -- was to reduce my insurance coverage.

No thank you, i'll take my money to somebody who wants the business.

They are not writing homeowners policies here either, haven't for quite some time, we are hurricane country too, this is understandable. How is your driving record?

You got me wrong I had no problem with USAA, just the opposite they have been more than good to me. Of course their insurance rates aren't the best but I have never had a problem with them paying off on claims.
Getting a car loan was very painless too, my truck was through them and the interest rate 5 years ago when I got the loan was as low as I could find anyplace else. My wife just got a car loan from them at a very, very low interest rate along with a special deal they had with Mercedes that rebated $1500.00 after the deal was finalized.
Farmer's is the one that we had hell with getting them to pay for damages that one of their clients did.

i'm always shopping my insurance. they are only your friend until you have a claim.

except for all state. they can stick it. had them for 6 months and they than jacked my rate 20%+. local agent sent me form letters for a year until i emailed her and told them to shove it (in nicer words). that worked for 3 months until they sent me a new quote. i sent her anouter email to stop send me crap.

hehe

****ers

We've been with USAA for nearly two decades. Homeowners, flood, term life, and auto policies. Hummm.... This thread has me thinking, perhaps they are not the best deal in town. Thanks for posting this. Going to have my hubby shop around to compare rates.
