The bottom line is this...

These companies are MASSIVE and in spite of any short term backlash and headlines, ultimately people will drink their beer. People will still go to Disney. Disney will still make movies that people will watch. People will fly the airlines, drive the cars, buy the clothes, do all the things we all have pissed and moaned about and they KNOW it. They are getting more exposure than ANY marketing firm could buy in ad time and it is FREE. I'll bet they spent more on a Super Bowl ad then they will lose pushing fairy faced beer cans. A lot of research was done in advance. This nonsense will allow them to sell at all the festivals without incident or protest, sponsor sporting events without protest, and it lays out a long future of ads that require no creativity. They just pick the right players and it doesn't matter what they actually say. Twinkle toes can say it's his favorite beer and it will get more attention than Joe dockworker saying it. They aren't stupid. This was very well calculated.

I imagine that all of this is a way to reduce the stock value, then purchase low, and go from there.
Then again, maybe they are just ignorant and pushing a shitty agenda..
My two co workers, who drink 30 beers a day between them have switched to Miller Lite.
