I always find out high level military personnel first names. I call them by that. I’ve called flag officers Bob and Hugh. I tell them I was enlisted and that I treat all the same.

That’s a HUGE pet peeve of mine, the BCC thing. Another thing I despise is adding 20 people to an email, 18 of which have nothing to do with the subject line.

If you feel you need to do this for CYA reasons, save the email for future use.

Makes to hard to give 2 shits about any email when 90% have nothing to do with you and it'll all be covered in the next mtg.. Oh wait why do I need to go again, you've already sent me everything covered. Some days I'd get 200 status check type emails, eventually I just quit checking email. The 3 people who I actually needed to be in contact with woukd call me if important otherwise I ignored every email. It interfered with my actual job.

Sadly, this is our culture at work but it wasn’t always that way. Several years ago our plant wasn’t doing well from a performance perspective as measured by INPO. (INPO was created in the wake of the Three Mile Island accident. One of its objectives is to measure performance by various metrics)

One of the AFIs -Areas for Improvement was accountability which morphed into “I’m gonna just include every supervisor on this string I can think of so they know I did MY part.” It’s somewhat created a siloing effect amongst various departments which I don’t think anyone considered.

It smells like tattling to me. Buncha wankers.
