I worked with it some back in the late '70s when I was in high school. We had a dial-up connection to a mainframe system for the entry level coding classes. When I was in senior in '81-'82, they had gotten bunch of Trash 80s, so we went to Basic. Went to college, and the entire engineering school used Fortran. They are reasonably similar, just Fortran is really an equation and hard number calculation language, and COBOL is set up to be better with alphanumerics. If I put my nose to the grindstone, I could probably get back up to speed on it in a week or three, but I'm not going to volunteer for that. Guarantee me at least a 3 month contract at my outrageous consulting rate and I would be all over it though.

This time I sat on the flat top and watched as my guests arrived.
My new pants were stuck in the fresh tar, I couldn't slide down to the next branch to climb down.
They finally found me and called FD.
When asked why I didn't shout for help:
"I was watching everybody at my party."

I got as far as ""When i was 3".
