Veritas. Quality tooling. My wife just gave me this router plane for my birthday. I have a bunch of their tools and have never been disappointed with any of them.

Most of what I have from them are various hand planes, but I also have one of their dovetail saws. I love hand tools.

When I was re-wooding some of the body of my 1915 Model T, a co-worker lent me a couple of antique Stanley planes that were almost 100 years old. Razor sharp. I was super careful not to screw them up. Like you, he's a woodworker. I'm a hack, but see beauty in all functional, well built and designed tools. Including guns, knives, pens, drafting, medical, you name it. Evil white men came up with a lot of really nice stuff.

I’ve been a fan for years. One of my prized possessions is the Veritas Tucker patternmaker’s vice. They are no longer in production and apparently highly sought after. They also have high quality sharpening tools, marking tools and hand planes.

She asked for suggestions and I gave her a couple. She never knows what to buy me. And, if she tries to pick it out herself, it is rarely anything I really want or need. I am a difficult person to buy for because if I want something or need something, I will simply go out and buy it.
