Well, ASSuming most of yawl know, I live in FLORIDA, lightening cap of the nation....and of course this LO CAT ion lives up to it's name......the amount of electronicus crappicus I have lost to lightening damage on this hillside totals about 5 grand in the last 20 years, BUT here is the strange thing, nothing to any appliance Knock on WOOD@@@@!!!! it's all been TV/stereo crap, and modems.....when ever I hear a boom from mommy nature, out go the 'tronics'......

our stove is a gas range on propain.....electronic OVEN card with clock....

the burners are manual......

I have a used appliance store basically next door......and since I was in the appliance trade decades ago, I have some basic knowledge of WTF is going on today.....

ONE thing, I SUSPECT the vast majority of card/controller failure is due to a bad capacitor....one of them little black and silver cylinders scattered over the board.....maybe yawl can find the remains of one find the values of the part, and replace it......

Might want to invest in surge suppressors or UPSs.

OH, since all THAT crap happened many years ago, I have two 1kw isolation transformers feeding the main router, TV, and stereo in LR, and it has a surge strip on the input, and yet another on the output/feed to the gear.....same at my computer station....still PAIR A NOID......and that is why I dumped ATT underground twisted pair about 3 years ago.....tree roots right into the lines and into the gear.....for some reason due to the grounding of the commcrap lines off the poles, the gear is not so awful evil on reliability.....

When I hear thunder, we see any lightening....I run around like KRAZY and kill all the 'tronics' in the house.......but not the kitchen shit, witch is really weird....tells me the ATT lines into the house are the issue.....and they are buried cable down the back yard, J box and into the house.....so go figger???

UPS??? funny as in there is a junkyard down the road a bit, that has been a scrap yard for UPS trucks......and the aluminum siding is in fact very useful for many projects....BUT the contract reads, according to the junkyard......that they are not allowed to sell ANY parts of the trucks that have the particular UPS PAINT on them.....

ASS IN WTF??? but there you go.....I would love to paint ahem huge sheet of aluminum WHITE, and put them on the roof of my house......

btw, the junkyard had well over 200 scrapped out UPS trucks there....no shit....

Update:

For anyone interested, it appears that the stove clock is now functioning normally. Turns out unplugging and plugging in again does fix just about everything.

I also found $ .86, a folder, 3 cat toys, a pen, a bank statement, and half pound of dust underneath the stove.

I picked it all up, but carefully replaced the dust back on the floor.....patina.
