I undersand all of that but Newport was the worst city in all of Tennessee even Memphis was better. Not sure how it rates now. I am a bit further out than you but we are accepted now. It takes awhile and if you are not there your place will be fair game. Painting your fence posts purple will help. The Bean Tree right off exit 447 has a nice little balcony you can watch the white water rafters come in at. Have you gone through the foothills parkway to Gatlinburg yet?

Yes we have. Newport is better than it was. Cops have cracked down as the town is growing. The powers that be want it to grow. So they have cracked down on crime.

Oh I’ve learned about mountain time. they start about 8:30, take two breaks and lunch every day. Are gone by 4 or 4:30. Work 3 to 4 days a week. He has trouble keeping help. The quality is good by the time it’s taking is crazy.

Now that is funny the cops used to be the worst part about the crime. I met Popcorn up there. He used what is my land know for spring water and a hiding spot for his still. The last time they were going to lock him up they tried to make a deal with him to steal his recipe and make it themselves legal. Suicide was his official cause of death.

That is the problem each one of them will know about your house. We came up one time when the house was being built. Ran into a bunch walking up our drive way with a picnic lunch. They said they were going up to watch them building the mansion.

My house is not much bigger. But back in the mountains back then and now there are some very small original homesteads. You can get a 500 gallon propane tank for $36 a year for rent. Get it before the snow flys.
