Default Speaking of toilet paper...
I don't want to offend any of our female members since I'm not generalizing. My wife, though, easily goes through a roll of toilet paper in 4 days. If I happen to be close to her bathroom, I can hear the roll spinning on the holder like a like a hamster cage. Every few days she needs a plunger for her toilet.

A roll lasts me 2-3 weeks, including blowing my nose. Are the female members of your household like my wife?

We wash our butt with soap and water around here, and are not happy to just smear it around some with paper..

Exactly, if you tripped and your hand landed in dog shit, you wouldn't get a paper towel and wipe it off. You'd feverishly scrub with scalding hot water and as much soap as you can find, yet we're content to just wipe our butts. Doesn't make much sense if you think about it.

Frugality has nothing to do with it. We have septic tanks, and I'm not anxious to have to pump them out prematurely.

I wouldn't flush 'em in a septic rig. We are on a city feed/outlet with new 4" PVC, really well vented and toilets that can damn near suck a cat off the seat.
