Default "Good afternoon Mr. Oversteer, you've won second prize in our raffle!"

"Sir, enter our raffle for only $10 and you could be off to Disney World!"

So I bought a ticket, but that isn't what I won.

Just got off the phone with the shelter and I won second prize! Second prize being a 37" Vizio 1080p tv, a Samsung Bluray player and three BluRay movies, Avatar, Tintin and Speed Racer.

I just bought a new TV for the living room last year, a 47" Sharp, so the 37" is going in the Mancave, in the center of the slotcar track.

I cannot wait to see what Speed Racer looks like in 1080p...

Here is the TV: http://www.vizio.com/lcd-hdtvs/e371vl.html

Here is the Bluray player: http://www.samsung.com/hk_en/consume...rs/BD-D5100/ZK

I'm psyched! In the living room I haven't gone to HD yet, still got cable coming in through coaxial and the DVD player is RCA'd in, so I'm not getting the full resolution out of the 47" that I could. Been waiting for Charter to ease up a bit on those digital boxes, and been looking for a cheap BluRay player for the living room.

I'll have to find another one of these Samsungs, the features on it are pretty sweet, from reading the blurbs about it on Samsung's site, Walmart and Amazon...

This is better than my friggin' birthday...

Each lane has its own power pack, laptimes are in the 7 second area if I'm pushing.

Put a track together, and filled the open spaces with Hot Wheels.

I just wanted to have my shit out for once, it's all been in storage for years, but I actually found that I don't get blocked as much if I can stop writing, blast a few laps, crash a couple cars, and clear the mind.

We used to do that shit at home in my Mom's living room. Elaborate road race sets and all our Matchbox, Sizzlers and Hot Wheels cars spread out.

She would pitch a bitch, make us take it all apart, and stow it.

Ahhh, precious memories.....

Exactly. It's the big set up I always wanted to build, and I hadn't seen most of these Hot Wheels in years... and this is only a tiny part of the whole collection... there are over a dozen totes like this one...

If you're anything like me, the second prize was better than the first.

Cool slot car track, and I think, back in the days that I played with hotwheels, I could have rivaled your collection!

I was able to do this in a space just 6.5' wide and 13' long.

It's actually bits of cork. I was given a roll of the cork and was originally going to cover the race tables with it, but it was too old and dry and just crumbled into bits, so I canned it.
