When did GM change the stock hood and remove the forward rubber bumpers?
Just realized my '03 doesn't have the rubber screw in bumpers just above the headlamp area like my '01 does... I can't remember what my father's '04 Z16 had. Check it out... not only does it not have the bumpers, but the holes are filled in and painted over from the factory.

Me neither until just now.. I was going to tweak the hood level and found that there's nothing there to tweak!

I'm OCD pefectionist about body panel allignment... and with these cars that's a problem because they're not perfect and if you start looking close it'll make you crazy.
I spent a long time getting my Z06 as perfect as possible after taking it all apart for paint then I went to Carlisle after gettin it done and saw stock cars and was blown away by how crappy the stock paint was/is and the panel allignment etc. Made me feel better about the re-paint etc. on my Z06. My "new" red vert is prety good, btu a few panels could use some tweaks.... tweaked on the fenders and doors tonight. The hood isn't bad, but the left side is about a 32nd down so you can just see the edge of the fender... it literally needs a smidge of a raise... this would normaly be accomplished by backiing out the rubebr bumper a smidge. I can fix it wiht the hood hinge and the other two bumpers if I want... the other two suppors are attached to the chassis.. one near the ont on the frame rail and one at the rear outer corner.

My 02 Z06 doesn't have them either. Had to track some down when I bought my tigershark hood so I could level it.... I guess in 01 they decided not to do it anymore after that.....

Neither my 04 Z (MCM CF hood has the opening for them though) or Ambra's 04 vert has them....
