Default Halo's with 1.5 tint = PERFECT!!!

I've been running with smoked covers on my tail lights because I could'nt justify the cost of real tinted tail lights only to have LE tell me to get rid of them I've been stopped twice for them but given oral warnings both times. I also became concerned that some azzhat would rear end me and use the blacked out lights as a defense.

I spoke with Jhonathan at JW and he did up a set of halos with what he called a 1.5 tint level. I wanted to just take the harsh red out of the lights. They came out perfect. Like a dark ruby color and still very bright on running lights and brakes. Not dark enough to get stopped anymore. Even Mrs. WKMCD likes them alot and all I usually get for mods is some serious eye rolling.

Here are some poor pics I took this morning. The illuminated lights are much brighter than the pics look.

Unlit Halo's on the right - stock on the left.

Brake lights.

Looks good! Glad you like the finished product. I had JW do my lights all around and they turned out very good.

I'm curious. The whole purpose of getting the halos are bcause of looks and the fact that they are significantly brighter which equals safer for you. With that in mind, why do you want to dim them with tint?

Blackout looks + brighter lights too.

Most would call that a win-win deal.

In my case I got my stock tails blacked out and in my opinion they were a little on the dangerous side so I got the blacked out halos instead. They work great and give me that oh so sweet look I was after.

I like the color combo of yellow/black, looks nice. I however, like having some tailgating idiot behind me to know I'm about to stop! Those halos say, "Back off fool!"

I guess my old age is catching up with me when I start worrying about safety over looks. Maybe it has happened to me. Maybe... I'm a geezer!
