I'm an old fart (65), I very rarely nap. Up at 7-8am, hit the rack 1-2am.

Napping is GREAT! No pressure, it refreshes you better than coffee or Red Bull, and it's free! When you get used to napping your body goes right into R.E.M. sleep, without the usual couple of hours of light sleep, and R.E.M. is the only sleep that counts. Bob Hope used to nap many times during the day, even for 10 or 15 minutes, and he attributed his longevity to napping. He lived to what?.....100?

Many cutting edge companies are now having nap time for their employees instead of coffee breaks, with beds and quiet rooms. Cool idea, and they find they get more productivity from their workers in the late afternoon.

Yeah, a 15 to 30 minute quiet time or nap gives me the energy to do a lot more in the afternoon. Unfortunately, I have not been able to really sleep in the afternoon here lately. Not that I don't have time, I just can't do it.

I gotta work on that.

Not sure, but sometimes a nap is all that I need to get that second wind. Even a little 15-20min doze off works great! I am very fortunate that my boss understands that...and even more so since I'm usually at work by 0600.

I used to take an hour nap back in college, right after I got home from classes. Great way to reduce stress.

I really had a hard time getting used to not sleeping for an hour every day when I graduated and started working though.

Nah, just enjoyed a wonderful visit with my son, who flipped in from Berzerkly for a few daze....he works as a auto mechanic out there....and so he drove the vette around a bit,
