It needed to be done during the attack. Under those circumstances it could be justified. To do it after the attack will not work out well for the one who pulls the trigger.

In fairness to the Marine, he might have just been initially shocked about what he was seeing, and the slow walk was him trying to assess the situation to see what he needed to do. He did jump in and pulled the kid off, and then helped drag him off the unconscious teacher, without wailing on the kid. He, and the women that helped, were just lucky the kid's fury was singularly targeted at the unconscious teacher, and that he didn't attack them with the same fury.

I think the Marine chose a reasonable middle ground, actually, now that I think about it. He balanced protecting others while at the same time, protecting himself.


Edit: This site has a partial video of deputies arresting the kid. He seems calm, but put off by the arrest. Is he going to jail? Yes? Oh, for how long, he has things to do. Zero concern for the teacher he just put into the hospital. It's almost as disturbing as the video of the actual assault. How did someone become this broken, so young?

Not me. Or You. But the threat was mortal IMO and had to be stopped at all costs. A fire extinguisher is even better than a chair because of no risk to the teacher. All you would need to do is use it lengthwise like a battering ram into his temple as hard as possible. It would likely be fatal, which would be the intent of any prudent person. At 6 foot 6 and pushing 300 pounds, this is one dangerous animal that needed to be put down asap.

Funny, I've never seen this occur in communities where a violent offence against innocent people are severely punished and ostracized.

How many recordings of black adults attacking the fastfood or Walmart worker over something trivial?
Yet their offspring are supposed to react any different?

Avoidance at all costs is truely the only solution...for now.
Residing-in or anywhere near, driving through, shopping or dinning in ANY areas of minorities is a no-go. At this point in time I wont even fly into an airport that's surrounded by ghettos (large minority populations) or requires driving anywhere near one to get to my destination.

The response was anemic and the kid continued to get licks in on the poor woman while being handled... But yeah, with cameras, social media and lawyers all over the place; I get it...
