Not looking forward to having to do something similar. Becki was her Moms executor. There was a lot of animosity with her sisters for years afterward. Fortunately most have moved on and somewhat reconciled

Been there and done that. I also have a sibling that I haven't spoke to since then, an older brother. He actually said to my wife during a discussion of the funeral plans, "You are not a member of this family and if your husband isn't man enough to tell you that, I am."

So the rest of the family decided to show him who isn't a member of the family. It's been 16 years.

I can tell you from experience when my last parent died, if you really hate your children make them all co-executors in your will. What a disaster that was.

I know... took me 15 yrs to reconnect after our G-Ma died... she adopted all 5 of us after parents died. I was oldest and executor of G-Ma’s will.... G-Pa died first of Alzheimer's. Wasn’t an easy 3 yrs....

15 yrs long time lost due to their petty BS. All good now as the All of our kids grow but still 15 yrs lost

Drama here too on Blondie's side. Dad passed in 07, and 3 sisters holding up everything. Blondie and her sister Jackie are the normal ones. The other 3 can eat a bag of dicks.

Tried talking inlaws into putting in wills everything and i mean everything gets sold and split 50/50 between siblings but noooooo that'd make shit too easy wouldn't it. There's some fukin roaches that will try and screw the MIL out of money if FIL goes first... And I'm gonna need to stock up on bricks and chains as I won't take it well if they take advantage of her.

My Dad always told me, leave it to a funeral to bring out the best in people. When he passed away in 09, it was easy as I am an only child. But selling his house etc. was still stressful, couldn't imagine fighting with siblings.
