This sensor reads temperature of the main heat exchanger, flame-to-water, shutting off the boiler if it exceeds a certain number. There is no such sensor in the Tasseron catalog- similar sensors return a degree C number.

The manual tells you to test for continuity- it reads 0.3 ohms. Similar Tasseron sensors have resistance values in the 10k ohm range, greater readings with lower temperature.

So, no heat or hot water until I get this fixed. Call to the manufacturer on Monday.
Well at least you have your tried and true (that's not my heating system) as back-up.

Blob thinks a torpedo heater is my backup system. What a dope.

For backup heat, I have this lovely Vermont Castings gas stove, enameled in beautiful antique white. It was in the 40's last night; we woke up to a toasty 72F.

Cars, Trucks, Motorcycles, Boats, ATV's, Tractors, race cars, even EV's , home improvements, Pools, New construction builds, etc...it is all good reading.

I had initially planned on a comprehensive thread on the construction of my new farm house, from start to finish. Also pics and video of the development of the property.

But while many enjoy these type of threads, both for the information and entertainment, and have some fun with harmless banter and cliche...
too many haters and fools that make it not worth the effort.

I respectfully disagree. We have a handful of people here that are consumers and spectators, not doers--- with no skills of their own so they tend to criticize those with skills. The rest of us love to soak up the project threads. We learn things that we've never heard about before, and to us, that's of interest.

I look at my detractors here as what they are: unimaginative, lazy cowards.

That would be accurate. Some of them are even homosexual.

Nine o'clock his morning I called US Boiler and got a tech expert. He had me use a voltmeter to diagnose. It's not the sensor- it's the control board. And it should be covered under warrantee- I just have to return the old one to them.

He also advised me that the "yellow chip" on the top of the board has to be placed back onto the new board. Reminds me of the "PROM" chip that Chevy used on the control board in my '81 Vette.

Supply House, where I bought the boiler, didn't have one in stock. Neither did my local Ferguson. The issue is that this is a specific board for high elevation installations. It was the same when I ordered the boiler from Supply House- this version wasn't in their catalog. I had to call them to order, and they had US Boiler make it and ship it directly to me.

I found one in stock at Midwest Supply. Shipping cost was either $19 ground, $35 2nd day, or $95 next day. Next day it is.

Trying to decide if I should order a second one just to have on the shelf.

You could consult Big Bob to come over and offer his advice, but he's hiding under the bed in whatever state or country he's in, afraid to come out and see the light of day and being exposed. If you don't order the spare part, you'll need it. If you order it and have it on hand, you'll never need it. Order the spare part.

Large Blob knows nothing about sophisticated, computer controlled machinery. I doubt that he owns a VOM, never mind an OBD1 reader. If he can't hammer on an experienced anvil or oak stump, he's got to "call the guy", or do without.

You are so full of shit I can smell your breath from here. Use your OBD1 to test your emissions if you don't believe me. I find the OBD2 to be much more useful. And let us not forget you're the one that fried your motherboard.

LOL The dumbass fell for it. OBD1 was specific to make and year, and tested for a lot more than just emissions.

Not really. OBD one was make-specific, and about emissions, but did not have 'emission' codes. Most of the early stuff didn't have data stream. You grounded the terminal and counted the flashing light after getting a code '12'. This was '80 to '96 (in CA at least). The introduction of OBDII made things a whole lot easier, but to be fair, electronics and computers got a whole lot better in the past 45 years. That said, new cars are disposable appliances that will not be viable long-term collectables, for those young enough to invest in 20-40 year down the line investments. Analog pre '96 cars will run forever, because they can be repaired or hacked to operate. The new stuff, not so much.
