I never did any rides with a tour or anything like that (not even a sag wag), but the Rockies trip did teach me you cannot cook enough calories to maintain you.

Well, not if you are riding anything over 50 miles a day.

I can see the attraction for these types of events/trips.

Recently attempted to revive my GT Intercepter that I used to smuggle onboard during Mediterranean cruises when I was in the Navy back in the 90s. It was in the machine shed at the farm, but was still exposed to the elements and corrosive fertilizer. First picture is how it looked when I started, 2nd is now. Still lots of corrosion around the welds where the chrome is gone, but is rideable. Super ****ing twitchy compared to slack head tube angles of a mountain bike.

Third picture is a Mongoose Californian that I'm currently building. It's what I had in the 80s, but this is a frame I bought on eBay. Mine was a 1983, this one is a 1985. I even found Tange TRX forks like I had back in the day. Currently waiting for the Elf handlebars and seat post to come in. I have a complete sticker set that will go on once it's completed.

I couldn't find any pictures of my other bikes.

Very cool! I grew up on bikes. Did all the bmx evel knevel ramp craziness and didn’t die. No broken bones or major scars so far.

Reissue profile cranks, 44T crank gear is old-school (from my GT) and the TRX forks are made-in-Japan old-school. The repop TRX is made in Taiwan. I also have some A'ME Unitron reissue grips waiting to go on when the handlebars finally arrive. Some parts did come from Pork Chop (funny, I was just looking at their website for some MKS reissue pedals for the GT). Most of my parts came from Albe's, including the cranks. Albe's built my wheels.

Got this from work as an anniversary gift.

Rode it a few times but if I made a habit of it the Vette would get jealous... It's like my truck, need to air the tires up every time before I use it

Wife and I have biked and kayaked for 40 years; we're slowing down now though in our 70's. We finally did move to e-bikes but seldom engage the motor unless going up the one steep hill in our subdivision. Pics are from last weeks trip to the FL panhandle.. The Old Town kayaks are approaching 30 years old.... Use them in the lake on rare occasions; when an 11' kayak meets a 10' alligator (actually happened once) I found out I could make about 20 knots just paddling.

I used to ride all the time. I've found out, in my 60's, I'd rather walk. It does more conditioning than biking, which just does legs for the most part. I do 170+ miles a month. About 5-8 miles a day, 7 days a week.

That’s a lot.

I feel like bicycling works the core as well as legs. Not a full body workout but that’s why I have a really nice rowing machine to hang clothes on.

Just bought myself a new full suspension mountain bike last month.
Carbon fiber frame and wheels.
This thing climbs hills with almost no effort.

I did over 100 miles the last three days.

I don't do it for the legs. I go on the beach along the board walk to look at thinly clad bikini's being worn by 21-35 year old women playing volleyball or laying in the sun.
