It 100% LOOKS COOL but AS A TRUCK, it's almost worthless. 1300 lbs payload on a big ass truck like that.
GM did not spend any time trying to make that truck efficient in any way, so they just slapped a gigantic, heavy batttery back underneath, bringing the truck to well over 9000 lbs.
Again, if you look for SHOW, the Hummer EV is your truck but other than that, it's a heavy ass car that looks like a cool truck. Due to it's large battery, it takes a long time to charge it to a high charge even though it charges are a very fast speed. Again, when it comes to the coolness factor, the Hummer EV ranks pretty high but from a functional perspective it doesn't. Anyone who would mostly charge on the road, would probably pay more for charging than their gas truck would cost them to fill up because of the huge battery.

There are reasons to go gas and there are reasons to go electric.
One of the advantages of electric is that you can charge at night while you are sleeping. With the Hummer EV, if you drive a lot and you need to recharge over 50% of the battery over night, it will take OVER 10 hours to charge only half of the battery. For example, on a Cybertruck, you can charge 100% of charge in 10 hours. On the Hummer EV it's 50%.

A friend of mine in LA said his boss has one and it pics up the speed limit on roads overpassing the freeway or sometimes next to it. So he'll be doing 65 on auto, and go under an overpass that has a 35 limit, and the Tesla will slam on the brakes to go 35. Causing a rear-ender or close to it. I guess it wasn't smart enough to brake, AND realize that swerving to the left was massively cutting off someone in the left lane. AND, Tesla in the left lane wasn't smart enough to brake to avoid colliding with the car cutting it off.

repaired. Now all these EV's pay NO fuel tax at all and I am still paying for

In some areas, government is subsidising the install of charging stations.

So...
The gov subsidises the EV manufacturers.
The gov subsidises the consumer purchase.
The gov subsidises the chargers.
The gov (and woke corp) provide special EV parking.
And the gov doesn't collect any road taxes on EV users.

Also, EV's, size for size, are much heavier than a comparable ICE car, and therefore are actually harder on the roads.

In Florida ,they are talking about a 65 million dollar deficit from a decrease in
gasoline tax. I wonder who will make up the difference.?

Some states already collect a registration tax for EV's to compensate for them not paying fuel tax and as an EV owner, I find this to be fair.
I don't mind paying an annual registration tax in the amount that the average car pays in fuel taxes. No issue there.

In Alabama, while I may not pay a gas tax for my EV, I'm still paying gas tax for my Ram and my Jeep.

The EV's tags are significantly higher, taking some of that tag money and applying it as a gas tax as a one time cost. While it may not be the same tax I'd pay if I were paying for gas in my wife's previous car, it is going towards road maintenance.

I'd imagine other states are doing something similar. I may not like it, but it IS a step in paying for the use of the roads in that EV.
