Little brother has one and loves it.
Our EV gets about 250 realistically on a charge (they say it is 275), but I never let the charge get THAT low when on a long drive. LOL When it is very cold or very hot, we have the option of our truck - which we use when we take the travel trailer out. Saves a LOT in gas costs since we now use the EV for all intown trips and short drives where we won't need to use a fast charger. I used to fill the truck weekly. Now I fill it MAYBE once a month.

Around town, we are VERY happy with the EV. But we have driven it to northwest Missouri (that was FUUUUN charging in Boone, MO on I-70 to go to Chilicothe and back last July!) and generally have no issues as there are chargers on our route (Columbia and St. Peters MO, Mt. Vernon IL, Paducah KY, Clarksville and Franklin TN) so we have charging options.

If you are looking for an EV around town, the Mini is fun option. Keep us up to date if you do that.

While I do own an EV, I'll also readily admit that they are not for everybody or for all situations. A LOT needs to be done with battery tech, capacity, recycling, range, and charging infrastructure before it becomes universal. I don't know if it will get there. BUT, it is nice to have options in what we drive. EV's do help reduce the use of gas/oil and don't pollute when in use.

They developed the Hurricane engine to replace the "hemi". Straight six, 3.0 liters. Turbo. More power and torque than the "hemi".

Yea... because who would want to charge their car in the evening anyway.
Why would you want to charge it at the peak when you don’t have to?

Wokeness is not a choice.

Sure, some companies are bending the knee earlier than others, but ICE vehicles will be regulated out of existence whether anyone likes it or not. It's not about "saving the planet," it's about FORCE.

We are dealing with real fascism: The merging of state and corporate powers for the benefit of the elite. The medical system is already there, energy and autos are coming on quick.

Can they be stopped? -- maybe. But as Sun Tzu said, in so many words, you have to understand your enemy if you want to defeat him -- and we don't understand him/it.

Yeah and the Tundra no longer has a V8, only a twin turbo V-6 which had wastegate problems right off the line requiring a cab lift to fix...newer isn't always better. And the 6 doesn't even have that much better mileage.

As to EV battery capacity - I'll never know.

Ford went in on their "ecoboost" 6 cylinders, in the F-150. I'd be interested to know how those engines are holding up now.

Probably has something to do with not wanting to plan my life around when I can charge my car...

Reducing displacement with the same or more horses is not the best idea for reliability.

As the old saying goes: "There's no substitution for cubic inches."

But auto companies are being forced to do this to maintain fleet average MPG so I don't blame them.
