Just spoke with Shawn. He's got some pretty cool ideas for the build.

We'll talk more about that later.

Finally got time to update this thread. A lot is already done. Again, captions from Shawn at VA Speed.

Crank is in.

Degreeing the cam-every cam installed at Virginia Speed get checked on the Cam Pro Plus to verify it's made correctly and every cam get degreed in.There is no guessing.

Want to thank Edelbrock for making a two piece cover that fits nothing. After an hour of milling and grinding i got it to fit.Thank god we didn't have a double roller chain on it.

We tig weld the reluctor wheels on to eliminate the wheel spinning on the crank and creating problems

Piston at BDC. The extra length of the sleeves help support the pistons here.

The heads arrived from WCCH yesterday. Both Richard and Shawn checked the PAC 1521 springs and both couldn't believe what great shape they are in. Almost like new specs. Great springs and we're reusing them.

Captions still by Shawn at VA Speed.

Checking piston to valve clearance.

Just about ready for the engine dyno.

It's looking great! Getting close to finding out the magic numbers.
Now, back to more important matters.....where's the pics of you buried in the snow?

Shawn thinks it may get the first engine dyno run in the next few days so maybe mid-week we'll know something. I told Shawn that he's welcome to try one of his cams but that I wanted to try the current cam first so we have a baseline. Ed's picking up the Z06 torque tube, tranny and diff this weekend and will be putting my hardened long shaft and ECS brace on that setup. He's also going to check the TT bushings.

Steve,

The liners are super strong and much harder than the factory sleeves. They hold their shape much better for improved sealing. They also wear much better than the stockers. The extra length means better piston support at BDC.

Shawn said everything else in the engine will wear out 5 times before the liners do so I guess I'm good for a couple of seasons.

PAC 1521 springs!!!

Both Shawn and Richard checked the springs that I've been running for the past 6-7k miles - PAC 1521's. These are nitrited for longer life and I believe it. The springs checked out within 5 lbs. of their new specs. Pretty amazing running with .660 lift. Needless to day, they're still in the heads. They are expensive but worth it.

Richard at WCCH will be sending me a flow sheet for the Stage 3 L92 heads but I found this from another post by Richard.

We now have a Stage 3 intake port program that has a flow peak of 380cfm @.700" lift. At .650" the flow is 374cfm. We didn't deliberately engineer the Stage 3 to peak at .700" rather we were more concerned with flow in the .200"-.650" range. A goal I'm satisfied we reached.

Should be interesting.
