Default Anyone ever aimed up HID headlights?

I put in a kit on my dually (not blue) and Ive been aiming them up, I got the left and and right/overlap down..but the up and down...I dunnoi

Low beams hit the ground about 200 feet in front of me, high beams go out straight...is that about right?

If oncoming cars are flashing their high beams at you, you are doing it wrong. If that isn't happening, then as long as you can see at night, you're OK.

No. Low beams should hit the ground at 267'; the light pattern should drop 2.1" every 25', which works out to 267'.

My projectors have a very definite cutoff. I parked parallel to a long building and looked to see that the light pattern on the wall gradually aims down. If level or points up, I'll blind oncoming traffic.

After checking one side, turn the opposite direction and repeat.

These arent projectors, sadly there are no real good projector kits for 88-98 chevies, that look right when the lights are off, and operate properly.

These are HID bulbs, and ballasts that install in the stock housing. I know I need ot get some crystal housings...

The only definite cutoff I have is on the outside..the top and bottom do not terminate like a projector.

I think people flash because of the whiteness...its harsher than the yellow halogen lights...

Again, if people are flashing you, you're doing it wrong. What I hate is, when I am pulling a trailer, people flash me, because my lights are aiming up due to the weight of the gooseneck. If it's a road that is not crowded, I'll sometimes quickly flick the high beams when the oncoming car is a good distance away, just to let them know, "hey, I do NOT have my high beams on."

That was after install ,before any aiming was done.

Ive only driven it a coulpe miles since install, had 4 vehicles oncoming, one flashed me...ironically it was a small compact car, the others were SUV or trucks...didnt seem ot have a problem.

Its a truck...my lights eminate from a point much higher off the ground, I anticipate being flashed from smaller lesser vehicles simply due ot how low they are.

People flash you because HID lights do not belong in reflector housings. The light scatters and is blinding to oncoming traffic.

HIDs are for projector housings.

The Fog lights make it hard to tell, but the left picture is low beams, the fence row right at the cutoff point is 300 feet away.

On the highs, same position, the square entry thing is 15 feet tall..
