The Military uses prejudice regularly and consistently to deny citizens from joining for a variety of reasons, like being too old or too young, too fat or too skinny, too tall or too short.

Did someone just scream "That isn't Fair"? War is VERY unfair. There are no exceptions made for being special or challenged or socially wonderful or different.

YOU change yourself to meet Military standards. Not the other way around.
I say again: You don't change the Military standards... you must change yourself.

The Military doesn't need to accommodate anyone with special needs or emotional and mental issues. The Military needs to Win Wars.

Totally agree. I have not seen any indication that military standards were not met. If the readiness of the force is affected, then the commander should take action to remedy the situation. However, if the commanders judgment is clouded by personal beliefs and not totally objective with the end goal in mind, then the commander needs to be called out.

In the 50's Japan got sick of the animalistic behavior of the US Marines so they dump them in Okinawa. Okinawa has been complaining about the US Marines and their large land use for decades.

An Army buddy told me that in the early 70's he was assigned to Okinawa. He got into a program where he trained with US Marine Infantry for a week or two.

On his first day the Marine Sgt was giving calisthenics. He bought the Marines to attention, walked up to a Marine and told him, "when I tell you to get down, get down. Then to prove his point he kicked the Marine in the groin to get him down.

At night they heard a continuous scream . A Marine had a fear of snakes, so his buddies, when he was sleeping put a snake in his sleeping bag and as they zipped it up the zipper jammed. The medics removed the Marine and he never returned.

A Marine of Samoan descent took a machete and decapitated a black Marine. When asked why?, he claimed he didn't like blacks.

My buddy said, in time of war *uck the US Army go with the US Marines, their animals. The Marines made an impression on him.

if they want to exclude tall, white, Christian males of German/Dutch origin, they can do so for whatever reason, or no reason at all. i'll find something else to do. and if someone asks "why didn't you join the Army?" "they wouldn't take me." end of story.

just because civil government has decided that something is legal, does not make it moral in the eyes of God.

The military is under the command of a civilian elected official. They cannot do whatever they want. They are bound by laws enacted by Congress and the executive branch of the government. They cannot do what you outline in your second paragraph, anymore than they could decide to exclude black people from the military, for instance. They can exclude some people for certain reasons, such as physical disability, but not for race or ethnic origin.


Another example would be they cannot decide on their own to start drafting people. They would need the approval of Congress.

Blind people are excluded and should sue. Every sign inside every building on any base has braille. And wtf do drive up atm's have braille? If you are missing an arm, ya can't get in. A retard...well, out of luck too. I for one have had it with the discrimination.

point was that i cannot tell the military what to do or not do.

if congress decides to change the requirements for being in the military, they may do so anytime they see fit. nothing in the constitution prevents them. only want guys/gals 5-6 to 5-10? permissible.
