Robot's Cross-Country Hitchhike Hasn't Left Massachusetts

BOSTON — Jul 24, 2015, 9:05 PM ET

A robot's hitchhiking journey across the U.S. is off to a slow start.

The robot named hitchBOT caught its first ride in Marblehead, Massachusetts, last week, bound for San Francisco, but it still hasn't left the state.

Instead, it has bounced around the Boston area and was briefly taken to sea. On Friday, the humanoid robot took in a Red Sox game.

The robot is immobile and relies on strangers to transport it from place to place. It's the creation of two researchers in Canada who wanted to study how people interact with robots. The robot automatically documents its travels on social media.

Previously hitchBOT took 26 days to travel across Canada. Its creators said it had a slow start there, too, but then quickly zipped across the country.

It doesnt give good head..plain and simple. The rules of the road state clearly that as payment for hitching, you gotta service the driver...

Driver sees a robot...and knows there is not way he is getting his knob slobbed...he keeps on going.

I have been curious about it. Ever since Lost I have been looking for a replacement show that was similar. (I know you were a Lost fan). So far Under the Dome is holding my interest. Might have to start recording them and check it out. Only a few episodes into the series, correct?

Yes, you can catch up on Humans on-demand at AMC.com. Only four episodes in to date, so there's still time to catch up. I'm totally intrigued by the concept and the moral and ethical dilemmas a robotic society creates.

I was never a Lost fan, though. Never peeped an episode at all. You must have me mixed up with someone else here.
