They spelled "Los Caboose" wrong on that arrow.
Pic 2, no wonder diving in Acapulco is so popular. |

We got about 15" of snow but it didn't live up to the hype. Done shoveling too in the 35 year old wool overcoat.

We got about 1/8" of ice. Storm didn't happen like all the hype they were pushing for the week.

Be careful Thomas.
I knew a man, in great health at 50-something...went out to shovel snow...went inside and sat down...dropped dead from a heart attack. |

I remember from being a kid, a family trip up that way in the SUMMER, going to see the Messabi Iron Range/mines standing on a cliffside and looking through the binoculars at all the activity, and an ore train near bottom of the YEUGGE pit, sorta explained where all the cars came from.....and the long ore train on the right side of the road leading up there crashing down the steep hill into a port on the great lakes, and the krazy pier it ran out to, VERY steep going uphill to the end, for some 2 miles because the train is going SO FAST, it could barely stop by the end and drop the ore......one of the better summer vacation trips that I will never forget.......

At 77 I do as least of shoveling as I can, prefer to let my truck with plow and tractor with bucket do as much of the work as I can. Things like my side porch and certain tune up work a shovel is needed. I live rural and no one around but my wife so I do what I got to do. I have worked out a couple things I do in my MO and my cardiologist says I'm doing fine. |

~5" here overnight, but when I went out in the morning, it was compressed down to ~1". So heavy, that I couldn't pick-up a shovel full. Mostly frozen rain/water. Anyway, plow dumped about 1 ft high mound in front of the drive. I couldn't even push that crap with the shovel. No way I was going to drive thru that. Used the old Toro snowblower, but it was tough. Kept clogging. Shit was so heavy, a 3 story parking structure in Glendale collapsed where they pushed all the snow on the top floor. Crushed 2 cars below, no people were in the cars at the time. Building now unstable. Predicted to take 8 + weeks before many cars can be removed from structure. I'd be pissed if my car was in there. |
