"Leave the World Behind" -Review

Starring Julia Roberts, Ethan Hawke, and a small part by Kevin Bacon.

Solid movie, good apocalyptic thriller, the plot wanders some, id have liked less character development and more action sequences, pace is slow for 2+ hours.

I do hope there is a sequel, its worth the watch because its a good story.

It is a mishmash of unrelated , unbelievable , wandering plots with no resolution of any of them .

They had, what? Three or four story lines going on? The last half hour I was wondering how they were going to pull all this together into something coherent. Obviously, they didn't bother.

Probably the worst movie I have wasted 2 hours of my life on since my wife and I saw "The Grifters". Same idea with that movie, a bunch of shit that seemed completely unrelated, and we were expecting it all to get tied together at the end somehow, and it just plain didn't.

I just finished it an hour or so ago...fair. I like post-apocalyptic stuff...this one had some possibilities but they let them slip away.

And what the hell was it with the deer? They never tied that one off and it clearly wasn't caused by anything going on in the movie...just weird.

That bunker at the end, though...would love to have that set up!! :-)

They definitely had some questions left unanswered, id have liked less character development, the entire scene with them dancing, and smoking pot..was unnecessary. The boy being bitten by a bug was too easily resolved by taking a blue pill. They had Kevin ****ing Bacon with a shotgun holed up around the corner and they made that scene 4 minutes long? It had huge possibilities, major potential.

I feel like at the end the movie was intended to send a message.

The father, total *****, completely reliant on tech.
The mother, completely cynical, 0 trust in anything
The oldest son, typical teenager
The daughter, mental problems but no one listens to her when they should.

The black father: highly intelligent...0 survival skills
His Daughter: spoiled brat

The coup-detat plot line was a decent explanation of how easily this country gets turned upside down...and that many many people like our main characters, would die on day 1.

Really did not think much of her when she was portrayed as "Pretty Woman" in that movie of the same name. While she is no dog she realy is not that pretty!

The producers of that movie certainly could have done much better than her!
