My poor mom. I came home to her in tears because she lost her phone at Krogers. She accidentally left it in little tray in a small cart. She went back immediately and it was gone of course. Manager went through video and saw nothing. Of course she is panicky and not thinking straight. I help get the phone suspended and thought maybe we should take one more look at the store video. We walked in and the manager said he was glad she came back. A sacker found the phone and took it to customer service. All the cards, money, and phone were still in the phone case.

There are still honest people out there. The manager didn't know which one turned in the phone. I offered a reward to them, but he said he didn't know who it was.

I was in one of those cash saver grocery stores. My son had given me 3 one hundred dollar bills to deposit it in his account. I put it in my right pocket where I carry my phone. I hasd gooten a call and I pulled the phone out and finished the call. A couple minutes later I thought I better check on the money and it was gone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I freaked out and retraced my steps looking all over floor for it. Wasn't to be found. I was hoping against hope that somebody turned it in, knowing that was not going to happen. Well I went to the managers desk and asked if anymore had turned in the money. Sha asked me how much it was and she pulled an envelope from under her counter and handed me back the $300!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
She a lady found it and turned it in to her. she described the lady and I remembered seeing her but she had already left the store so I couldn't thank her!

I know that feeling.

One day I was at my post office box retrieving my mail. I was having a phone conversation at the time which distracted me, and I ended up leaving my entire key ring hanging in the door of the PO box. By the time I realized what I'd done it was a couple of hours later; I went back to the post office and discovered that some kind soul had turned in my key ring and a postal employee had placed them inside my PO box. What a disaster that could have been!!

Yeah, there are still a few good people in this world.

Since then I have been able to return the favor twice - when checking my PO box mail I have found a PO box key sticking out of the lock on two separate occasions. Both times I turned the key in to the postal employee and gave them the box number. Good Karma goes around and comes around.

There are a lot of good and honest people in the world. We just don't hear much about them because what gets reported and discussed is bad and negative things.

1987, I'm driving down the highway in my '69 Beetle on my way to see my GF (now wife). Suddenly, the engine sputters, and dies. I'm standing there scratching my head trying to figure out what is wrong, when a Spanish guy, maybe 35 years old, with a HUGE family stuffed into an old station wagon hoopty, stops and asks in Spanish if I need help, he spoke NO English. We quickly realize the problem that even though my gas gauge says half a tank, I am out of gas. So he unloads the whole platoon of relatives from the hoopty, leaves them beside the highway, and drives me to the nearest gas station to get me a couple quarts of gas in an old Prestone jug. We put the gas in, and the car starts right up. I offered to pay him, but he refused, and said "ayuda el siguiente hombre".

Whenever I have had the chance to do something nice for someone, and been offered a reward, I steal the guy's line.

Have not stopped smoking more than 15 years ago
Do not currently have a diagnosis of lung cancer

Then you qualify for a Low Dose Lung CT scan, covered usually at 100% by your insurance. GO GET ONE. This is a screening test very similar to a mammogram, colonoscopy etc, but it is fairly new (2013) that insurance will cover it so many people are unaware.
