Default Ceiling Fan Installation

How is this related to this forum? Well I placed my laptop in the living room and trying to keep it cool. I use the laptop to
post in this forum and learn about Corvettes

I wanted to do this project for 5 years and finally on Wednesday I bought all the hardware.

There was no hole there. Marked it using a 24" screwdriver. The ceiling is 10' height.

Got up in the attic carrying all the tools and a rake to move the insulation. The roof is right above me so I was
walking on the beams on my knees and it was HOT up there. A nail made a nice little hole on my head.

I told you it was hot up there.

Today I started at 5:30 AM to beat the heat wave. After I dug my way to the light I got the wiring hooked up.

That remote receiver was a PITA. It connects to the wiring above the fan.

Done

Test

There is no project completion without anew scar. Happened in the attic, it was the scar or drop into my living room.

Ouch, that's what my head looked like after crawling out from under my car (see how I helped to make the thread corvette related). Nice job man.

nice job pete, I need to install about three or four in my house, but after seeing the bodily injuries I may pass on it and just buy the small hand held one you pick up in Chinatown. Nice looking fan

The bad part was the attic's angle, crawling down-holding and banging the roof sucked.

I used to bitch every time a problem arose working on a car,,, until last fall when I tore the bathroom out & completely re-did everything including the floor. Battle scars were abundant and my parrot could have learned some new words. I will never, ever again bitch about a problem with a car project.

I like the fact that you brought a rake in to the attic to clear away the insulation.

Great job! And, my condolences!

Fond memories of rewiring in my attic, middle of summer heat and fiberglass floating everywhere until it settles on my sweat! Oh yes, the sore knees and the sloping roof with the protruding nails!!!! I have a renewed respect for the professionals!

It could have been worse, you coulda fallen through the cieling and landed on your rake, then you woulda been Forked!Next time use a Deep "J" box to fit the remote control module, it makes hanging the fan a little easier.

Today I got the second fan installed in my master bedroom. I did it in a 1/3 of the time and it was more difficult.

The electric connection is not thru a switch it is connected to a plug in the attic.

No injuries this time.

"Practice makes perfect" How long did it take to balance it? That's the part I hate.

Is working fine. Normally when they start acting stupid is the dust on the blades.

I've been lucky all three fans in my house were balanced right away.

Yeah....adjusting those little clip on weights is just loads of fun..

I've never had one that didn't wobble right out of the box.
