Pssst - the F-35 has Air Force, Navy, Marine and RAF versions. But it'll be killed as a high profile easy-to-target defense program and leave us with a front line fighter that is the 45 year old F-16.

Easier to simply redline a single program and feel good, rather than change the entire culture of procurement and budgeting.

Everyone suffers means everyone. Cuts in entitlements, cuts in the military and increases in taxes are the only things that will keep us from driving off a cliff. Why can't you guys understand this?

I didn't say I was against military spending cuts. My point is that entitlements are the elephant in the room, not military spending. Those that aren't pushing to reform SS and Medicare are signing our death warrant.

Increased taxes in a down economy will lengthen the recession. I am for tax reform however. If done properly, could bring in more revenue without increasing income taxes.

I have to ask ... how does one continue to espouse the tea party manifesto after getting a grand deal of 3.75 to 1 ($3.75 Trillion slash to entiltlements to $1 Triilion in Corp. eleimination of tax loopholes & subsidies) ... rejecting it and plunging the global markets into over $4 Trillion in losses in 2 weeks ?

Since the USAF doesn't have to pay to maintain DHL planes, etc it's cheaper to use them for expedited shipping.

We've had a shortfall of wartime airlift for 30 years.

Many of those cans of worms need to be addressed. If we Sucede I will be more than happy to join the Minute Men and patrol the border once a month or so, as long as we're allowed to actually enforce it.

I have no problem NOT paying for illegals school & social care. I do have a problem paying the US government's spending with no recourse against them to not address the major problems plaguing the US.

I recently shipped 20 machines to Camp Leatherneck VIA DHL air freight. The equipment cost was $57K, the shipping was $32K. They nickle'd and dime'd me on the machines, didn't bat an eye on the shipping.
