Politics is a dirty rotten business, and if Ted Cruz didn't want his family attacked by an opponent, he shouldn't have ran to begin with. Besides, he used his own family in his political commercials during the campaign. So if you are going to prance them out there Ted, FAIR FUGGIN GAME.

In the real world, anybody with decent morals would leave a persons family out of personal attacks, but politics aren't the real world (at least not the one you and I live in). And politics certainly have no morals.

If you can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen dude.

I recall Cruz doing some shady shit during the Iowa caucus, so him acting all high and mighty is a bunch of HORSESHIT.

While Cruz is a bright Constitutionalist and probably a good lawyer, he comes across like a creepy and preachy televangelist. And what he did at the convention PROVES that he has no business being President. I'm in the 'F**K YOU TED' camp now myself.

Trump is no Conservative, but the reality is that this country will never elect a true Social Conservative EVER AGAIN. The Demographics have shifted too far to the left, and if the GOP wants to remain relevant, they need to shift to a more Libertarian platform while still maintaining their core Constitutional Principles and Conservative Economic and Military policies. Trump basically has proved that they need to quit being a bunch of PUSSIES.

Cruz is just another Ivy-League educated beltway insider with ties to big money like all the other career politicians. He just wants you to believe he's not because he has a Latin surname. He's also just sent whatever was left of his political career into the shitter.
Of course the career politicians hate Trump. He showed up to Washington and stood for something, that's a lot more than can be said for many folks that have resided in Washington way longer.

Cruz would not endorse Trump but Trump said he could speak on the stage anyway. So Cruz spoke and threw himself under the bus. Trump gave him just enough rope he needed to hang himself.....

Why does nobody remember Cruz using a nude photo of Melania Trump in one of his political ads which started the whole matter? It's still online.

NOW Cruz takes the high ground?

Scumbag.

Agreed. But my statement wasn't about Trump. It was about how Ted Cruz has singlehandedly torpedoed his political career.

There's only one scenario where Cruz might come out of this unscathed, and that would be if Trump were elected and didn't do well as President, which isn't likely. And even if that does happen, breaking with party loyalty is nearly equivalent to political suicide.

I just don't see Cruz recovering from this one and I'm not at all disappointed about it. I always thought he was a jackass and I'm confident that there are better choices out there.

The bar to be better than David Dewhurst was pretty low. I voted Cruz in the primary for the senate race, then voted Libertarian in the general

The sad thing about all this is, the Trump positions that are so popular today would have been taken by President Ron Paul. We could ha e skipped the unpleasantness of the Iraq war, Libya, Syia, etc. ISIS would have started out as a Syrian problem best handled by Russia. Syria is their baby, not ours.

I'm not sure he had the ability to come on that strong and steamroll to the finish line. I chalk up Trump getting so far as he did, on his refusal to play it safe. The Biggest guy on the playground can pull off the bully thing, the little guy gets crushed.

Yup. And Cruz was behind the rumors that Ben Carson was pulling out of the primary race during the Iowa caucus. He pulled some seriously shady shit in Colorado and Utah. His dad said some really strange stuff about Ted being sent by God to lead the world. His wife had a nervous breakdown and was found by a busy highway just sitting there or something. He pretty much ruined her career by moving to Texas at the time, after leaving the Bush administration in a huff because GWB wasn't going to make him AG at age 30.

Ron Paul thought that the people would respond to a common sense and econ 101 lesson message. As it turns out, Americans are more concerned with bread and circuses. Are there enough bread and circus voters willing to get on the Trump train to win this thing? Those swing voters aren't voting for the candidate with the best positions, they are voting for their feelings. Feelings got us GWB and Obama. Hopefully the feelings crowd likes Trump's showmanship.

I sure hope so.
