I've been a bunch of times, and when traveling with my family, we have always had a great time. But honestly, it isn't really a significantly better time than taking the family to a nice beach somewhere, or Disney World, or the like. If you are a world history geek, it's a must go kind of a thing. For anyone else, it's just a "what interests you this year" kind of a thing IMO.

My wife's sister lives in The Netherlands. I also have some friends/distant relatives in Germany. I consider those trips to be a little different than say, the time I took the family to Rome for a week. Don't get me wrong, Rome was awesome, as was Paris, but I think most people who aren't "Europhiles" could have just as good of a time visiting places like the National Parks, or Hawaii if they don't feel like traveling internationally.

Age 76 here, so my family history stems from 'Russian Hill' in Cleveland Ohio.....and so over the decades, except for the hatred of commies, the rest is long gawn, and so no interest in ME to ever bother visiting other nations.....been to Canada once as a kid.....but nowhere else.....

Other nations show me nothing of mutch of interest......could care less.....

see enuff through TV/movies/news/etc......so they have a castle or two, hoo kares..??.......
