Tanya Roberts, former ‘Charlie’s Angel’ and Bond girl, dies at 65

Tanya Roberts, who captivated James Bond in 'A View to a Kill' and appeared in the sitcom 'That ’70s Show,' has died, several hours after she was mistakenly declared dead by her publicist and her partner. She was 65.

Lance O’Brien, her companion of nearly two decades, told The Associated Press on Tuesday that Cedars-Sinai Medical Center called him Monday night to inform him that Roberts had passed away.

'She was my soulmate, she was my best friend. We haven’t been apart for two days' in their years together, a tearful O’Brien said.

Roberts’ death was related to a urinary tract infection, publicist Mike Pingel said.

"The Bond girl and That '70s Show actress was 65. She had been hospitalized after collapsing Christmas Eve following a walk with her dogs in California, and had tested negative for COVID-19. Her rep tells People her cause of death "was from a urinary tract infection which spread to her kidney, gallbladder, liver and then blood stream."

UTI's are common in older women, and they can get bad in a hurry. Mom was hospitalized for one, and she had one when she fell and broke her leg, which was really the beginning of the end for her. I knew nothing about them until the first go round. She woke up one morning and couldn't stand, couldn't walk. It was like her brain wasn't connected to her legs. Scary, scary stuff. That was the UTI, and I didn't know, because mom didn't show the typical symptoms, like high fever, so the hospice nurse didn't pick up on it either.

So even after I learned exactly what to look for, and did my best to keep her hydrated, etc., she had successive UTI's that came on friggen' FAST.

It's very conceivable that Tanya got one and it got deadly in a hurry, especially if she had other health issues.

Whoa...I had a friend in the hospital a couple years back with those symptoms. Doctors were baffled. They could not figure out what was wrong. When she told me they started treating her for a UTI, I thought it was nuts. I also thought maybe that was in addition to what was going on with her. I guess she had the same thing. She went to get out of bed one morning and her legs went out from under her. I wonder what the physiology is with that?
