Default My Father's Day Tomahawk Steak

Just got into the whole Sous Vide thing. Two 2.5 lb. Tomahawk Ribeyes, salt pepper and garlic seasoning, and Sous Vide for 2.5 hours at 131 degrees. 3 minute high heat sear on each side on my Vision Kamado grill and they were perfect.

Five pounds of rib eye! How many were you feeding?
Looks great but that’s a lot of beef

That was my thought too.
Who the hell sits down and eats 2.5 pounds of steak?

But they do look perfect!

My wife does a lot of Sous Vide cooking, meats come out great. However I won't do it on steaks. If you like it then fine, but I prefer the steak on the grill.

I had a friend over who had a death in the family and was by himself for Father's Day. What I did was make both steaks in separate bags seasoned a bit differently, then cut them up it sections. We ate about 1/3rd of them along with broccoli and football sized russet potatoes. Wanted to make sure my bud had a good Father's Day dinner.

I still have a bunch of leftover steak to eat. It was amazing. We also polished off a bottle of Balvenie Caribbean Cask Single Malt Scotch and a bunch of cigars. Great day overall.

My bud just lost his Uncle and was here for the funeral, wanted to make sure sure he had a good day. Mission accomplished. If you are my friend I take good care of you.

I hear you, but it ended on the grill, the sear was perfect.

I've cooked a few of those Tomahawk Steak on my Traeger grill.

1. We set it on 225˚F for 1 hour until internal temperature of the steak reaches 120˚F.
2. Remove steaks from the grill and set aside to rest.
3. Set temperature 450˚F and wait until grill is at temperature.
4. Place the steak back on the grill and cook 7 to 10 minutes per side, or until the internal temperature reaches 130°F.
5. Remove steak and let it sit for 5 minutes.
