Default 109* WTF

So we planned to go to our new place for the weekend yesterday and we're in the middle of a heatwave here in the central valley. Most of our stuff we take is in the garage and I go to gather the things we take to the mountains, Holy moly! It's 9am and already in the mid 90's but the garage had to be 120*+ in there (it's uninsulated with no AC) Halfway through getting stuff I told my wife you're driving, I was already not feeling well. I figured if I could get the stuff in the truck and sit in the air I'd be okay. Nope, fifteen minutes later I was ready to pass out. Gave up on it, barely made it in the house, flopped on the couch and just sweat from every pore on my body. Had to cancel our room and plans. Finally feeling better now at 1am.
Tomorrow 106*, I'll just stay inside.

We came here from the Bay Area, Probably the mildest weather in the US. I know it gets hot here but damn!

Heat exhaustion if you were sweating.. Heat stroke if you stopped... Old blows and so do heat stroke and exhaustion.
Ten plus years ago I may have overdid it a couple of times. Once 25 ft up on a barn I was building. Headache for couple of days and felt bad. 2nd time walking thru the yard carrying a board and legs went out. Wasn't even warm out yet, residual effects from couple days earlier. Took me half hr get into the house and holy shit balls was i wiped out for days. Couldn't be in sun for months, probably took 6 months before could really work.
Years before I lost 15 lbs 3 different times working inside airplanes on the ground in just a few months. About ruined me and the kidneys.
Take my advice and stay out of the heat for a few days..

Nope, heat exhaustion. Heat stroke is a life threatening emergency to call 911 for because it can kill you. Heat exhaustion is time to relax, cool down and drink lots of water.

I went to school in Fresno. I remember playing golf in the summer at 105+ I could never do that now.

90's here in CO, even at 7650 feet. On the other hand, it's supposed to be low 60's on Monday. So we do get breaks that never seemed to happen in the valley.

We were in Grand Junction a week ago. 106 and zero humidity. Went to Ouray one day, mid-90s at 9,000 ft. Had to come home to Florida to cool down.

Was 115 when I rode my motorcycle through Montana. Was wearing portable shade (leather) and wetting down underneath with a gallon of drinking water every 100 miles. Clothes would dry out in a few minutes but that little bit of refreshment every hour and a half got me through. The only problem was my feet, being only inches above the pavement those puppies got cooked real good

Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate. If you don't urinate about every hour you aren't getting enough liquids. Start drinking an hour or so before going out and continue for an hour after you go back inside. I learned this the hard way when we moved south 30 years ago when I was working for a landscaping and irrigation company.
