Why we can’t have nice stuff reason #25
I had to run a couple errands today. Regardless of which car I drive, I always park in the back of the lot far away from everyone. I walked out of Sam’s Club with my case of water to find that some cocksucker almost bonzaied his cart into me.

I figure stuff like this fits into 2 categories...
One are just straight up stupid/don't care The other group mess your stuff up out of pure jealousy. I was told about the 2nd one when someone tried to destroy something nice someone else had. "if i can't have it they can't". |

Best you can do is park in the South 40, if there is one, and to look at the topography of the parking lot and check wind direction, and park where carts won't roll into your car. Having said that, I was once parked in a parking lot away from other customers, and the wind gusts were very fast. I came out and saw a cart barrelling at my car (parked all by itself), and I just barely managed to catch it, had less than 15 feet before it would have slammed into my front passenger quarter panel. So no strategy is fool proof.
It's why I like shopping at Aldi. For $ .25, they solved the problem of loose shopping carts. I wish all retailers would use that European model. |

In 07 due to DBS my 05 Vette was traded in and bought a new 07 Z06. I was down at Carlisle for the big Vette show and we were coming back from dinner not far from Harrisburg. Winds were bad and getting worse and we were headed for our motel.
Was driving down the highway and out of the corner of my eye I see close by a shopping cart coming at about 70 MPH out of a large parking lot. That Z had some serious acceleration and I really got on it and the cart missed hitting my 3 week old car by about 4'' We were lucky no doubt about it. The Carlisle fair grounds, vendors and many expensive cars got chewed up real bad and there was a serious power out in the area for hours. |

No doubt the idjit parked his massive SUV or pickup truck in a pull through situation, someone parked behind him, so he had to maneuver that cart between two cars, scraping both, to get to his tailgate.

BTDT unfortunately. A couple of years ago I took the 63 to Lowes to return an item before going to the gas station and home. When putting the cover on it the next day, I noticed an indentation in the nose the perfect shape of a hitch ball. I was in Lowes for 6 minutes max, so some asshole backed his truck into me in the back of the parking lot, realized it, then drove TF away. This was the straw that broke the camel's back as it already had some imperfections, so that ride to Lowes ended up costing me quite a bit.
