there is very little commercial value to dried up glue that you have scraped off (used an old chisel that needed some sharpening).

this project didn't need that many clamps, about 14 at the high point, but i have more...just in case.

i counted them, some are not visible in these pics, came up with 158 total of various kinds.

can't have too many clamps! or too much ammo.

My shop gets cleaned 3-4 times a year whether it needs it or not.

spent a day before starting this project cleaning things up a bit.

your knife needs to go well with this board.

i have a garage too, 3 car officially (but the 2 car side is tight, so just my truck and a pile of stuffs, the 1 car side has a 12' wide door, so easy in/out with the Subaru).

if you pulled all the stuff out of the shop, it would fit 4 cars easily (2x2).

for those wondering, the wood was in the clamps for about 2-1/2 hours when i removed the clamps and scraped off the excess glue. at that point, the excess was dry enough that it would not smear, but not fully hardened. so i'm leaving the board overnight to finish drying before starting to sand tomorrow morning.

in theory, you can unclamp something after about an hour, but i have found that you can also undo a glue job if you handle something too roughly, so having an undefined deadline, i'll let it cure all night.

flattened as best i could, sanded to 80, wiped down with mineral spirits to removed sawdust and show approximation of final color when wax is applied.

let it dry for a bit, then sand to 120, perhaps 220.

need some more sanding belts and discs, so i'm off to homey depot or lowes.

decision time coming up: square corners or rounded corners; square/rounded/chamfered edges?
