"VB"ers are a good bunch. I really appreciate the support and interest.

I'm finally on a computer instead of phone so I can type more. I am not sure what they are looking for. I knew I wasn't it, but I heard some of the most amazing singing ever imaginable. All around me. It was awesome for anyone that is a music lover.

For anyone interested, here is the process:

Take your pass to the venue.
In my case 7:00 AM across town. I was up at 5:00.
Wait about an hour outside.
Wait another hour or so inside.
Check in and get assigned a seat.
Your seat is one in a row of 10.
These 9 people will be with you the rest of the day.
I waited in these seats until 11:00
As a group of 50 (5 rows of 10 people) you are taken to yet ANOTHER waiting room. One of three. At 11:00 I was still in this room.
At 12:30, my group of 10 was pulled from the room and moved to the hall to wait outside yet ANOTHER room where the actual audition takes place.
As a group of 10, we entered a room with a table at the front and 10 chairs lined up facing the table split in half. 5 left of center, 5 right of center. Between the rows of 5 chairs is a bright orange "X" on the floor.
A Producer calls a name and you move to the "X"
State your name, song name, and sing.
No banter, no comments.
Sing a verse and a chorus PERIOD.
Sit back down.
I happened to be last in my group. The Producer thanked us for coming and told us we were free to go except for one girl. She was held back and received a ticket to move forward.
I was walking to the car at about 2:15

It was a lot like waiting at Disney. W a i t w a i t w a i t and "zoom" the ride is over.

I have no bad feelings about any of it. I cannot begin to tell you what the Producer heard in this girl that was missing from any of the others. She was good...she was really good, but I personally heard AMAZINGLY better people that did not get chosen.

In all, I would rate the experience a true positive.
Next item on my bucket list... I will skydive.

Thanks again for the well wishes and support.

You all ROCK.

I still think they want more of an entertainer vs. voice. Young, energetic, good looking, appeal to the younger crowd, etc...I saw a blues documentary one time. An old ragged looking black man named, Whispering Moses Smith, sang Raining in my Heart. His voice and range was unreal. They asked several people why he never made the big time with a voice like his. They reply was that the record companies wouldn't even consider him because of his rough looks. It's all about the money and marketing to the young crowd that spends money on such things vs. god given talent.
