Well, the 300 foot maximum length was from a time ago. Now, Cat5E is a bit better than when this standard was brought out. We will fail a fluke test if over 295 feet in our business. But the customer can accept it, based on what data is going over that line.
We can put repeaters in, if needed, which by design we would have..
And the 5.8ghz, doesnt work with the Cat 5E... maybe I am wrong, but I thought it was 500mhz

The problem is people that sit behind the desk that never were techs think they know how to be a tech.. Apprenticeship programs make better program managers.

Not that it is the same, but, the flashes from the camera back in the day deteriorated paintings. The Sistine chapel is one place they still wont let you take pictures because of that mindset, even though most cameras, cell phones are LED..
