I have always strived to have enough money that I get to make my own decisions instead of my bank balance making them for me.

I'm not there.

What does "rich" or "wealthy" really mean? If you ask 10 people, you will get 10 different answers.

One of the most powerful feelings in the world is the ability to walk away from a shitty job or other situation at any time without incurring hardship.

That's my definition of "wealthy."

That's because you've always lived how you wanted to. I call that a win.

Having the power of "I don't give a ****" is a beautiful thing. If you are doing well financially, it certainly helps to "not give a ****"....

While money itself does not create happiness, what money does is that it gives you INDEPENDENCE and not being a slave of the system. Independence makes me happy. There is no universal answer.
The two wealthiest people that I know are also the most unhappy.

My friend and business partner is the wealthiest person in my circle of friends and he seems pretty happy. He went through a lot of shit (like wife cheating on him and divorcing him, both parents dying and having 2 heart attacks within a year) and has since decided to just live off his wealth and stopped doing anything except for enjoying life. He drives around in his Supercars/Hypercars, spends half of the year travelling and stays in the best Hotels. He just got back from 3 months in Asia. He seems very happy now. Not so much when he went through a lot of shit..

That's because of them, not money. They'd be unhappy with or without money.

I, on the other hand, could be much happier with $50k - $75k and radically change my life for $150k. That's really nothing in the scheme of things.

There have been several studies linking money and happiness and it's something around $85k for an annual income is where the money/happiness line intersects. Making more than that doesn't provide any extra happiness. Money is a tool that can help with happiness but it doesn't, by itself, create it.

85k is a ramen noodle meal plan since Biden got in office.

They are idiots.

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it allows you to buy more of the things that make you happy.
