Playboy announces first transgender Playmate - Houston Chronicle

Playboy announced Wednesday that its Playmate for November 2017 is French model Ines Rau, a transgender woman.

Rau, 26, is the first transgender woman selected as a Playmate, according to the magazine. Rau posed for the magazine in May 2014 and said she used it as a celebration for coming out.



"I lived a long time without saying I was transgender," Rau told Playboy. "I dated a lot and almost forgot. I was scared of never finding a boyfriend and being seen as weird. Then I was like, 'You know, you should just be who you are.'"

Oscar winner Jared Leto will portray late Playboy founder Hugh Hefner in a new biopic.

According to Playboy, Rau works as a model, living in Paris and Los Angeles. She's also signed a book deal and worked in film.
